DRAFT Official Community Plan (OCP) Survey

0% answered

You are Shaping Port Alberni's Future

The Draft Official Community Plan (OCP) guides how Port Alberni will grow and evolve over the next 20 years. The plan includes policies related to housing, transportation, parks, infrastructure, climate resilience, economic development, and complete communities. The policies in the OCP were developed in response to previous community engagement on the OCP for the Vision and Touchstones, then for the Approach to Growth for Port Alberni.

We are engaging the community on the Draft OCP to hear your feedback before developing the next version of the OCP for Council consideration in the Summer, 2026.

General Questions

Whether or not you have reviewed the full Draft OCP, the following summaries highlight the key directions proposed in the plan.

1.

Which topics in the Draft OCP are MOST important to you? (select up to 3)

Why do we ask this? To understand which issues and opportunities matter most to the community to help guide City priorities over the next 20 years.

* required

City-Wide Key Directions Questions

The Draft OCP has City-wide topics that can enhance quality of life, create a more livable and connected city, and address the environmental and social conditions that influence how people live. The section of Community-Wide policies sets out a coordinated approach to built, natural, social, and economic infrastructure, advancing the shared vision and guiding principles of the Port Alberni community.

Draft OCP directions summarize the main ideas of each policy section. Survey questions ask about your level of support for each topic’s key directions. The first part is multiple choice. There is an opportunity to provide feedback at the end of this section of questions.

Why do we ask this? To understand if each topic’s policy directions are aligned with what the community wants to see happen in Port Alberni over time.
