How long will the facilities be closed?

    All City and ACRD operated facilities and playgrounds will remain closed to the public until further notice.  This includes: 

    • City Hall and ACRD Head office
    • 3rd Avenue Recycling Depot
    • Public Works/Parks Yard
    • Echo ’67 Community Centre
    • Echo Aquatic Centre
    • Alberni Valley Multiplex
    • Alberni Valley Museum
    • Port Alberni Fire Hall
    • Echo Park Fieldhouse
    • Glenwood Centre
    • Gyro Youth Centre

    Essential service will continue to be provided in the Alberni Valley at this time.

    Are playgrounds and spray parks open?

    The City of Port Alberni, Alberni-Clayoquot Regional District and School District 70 coordinated their efforts to reopen all local playgrounds, effective Wednesday, June 10. Have fun, stay safe and play responsibly! 

    Are Parks and Trails open?

    City and ACRD parks and trails remain open at this time. Community members should follow directives from the Provincial Health Officer regarding social distancing and hygiene. 

    Will garbage and recycling curbside pickup continue?

    At this time, garbage and recycling services will continue uninterrupted. However, some receiving facilities, like the 3rd Ave. Recycling Depot are closed until further notice.
